The Road Movie Festival was born from a simple conviction: the journey is a character in its own right.
Organised by Auto Rétro Cinéma, an association that brings together a passion for classic automobiles and cinematic culture, the Festival is dedicated to short films in which the journey shapes the narrative, regardless of the means of transport: Car Train Bicycle Boat Motorcycle On foot Or any other mode of travel.
What matters is not the vehicle itself, but what the journey sets in motion: a quest for self-discovery, an encounter with others, or the crossing of a landscape that transforms the way we see the world.
Each edition brings together filmmakers, cinema enthusiasts and audiences around one shared belief:

What is a Road Movie?
A Road Movie is any short film whose narrative is built around a journey, regardless of the means of transport, in which travel becomes a catalyst for the transformation of one or more main characters — a journey of self-discovery, a meeting with others, or an exploration of landscapes that become an essential part of the story rather than a simple backdrop.The journey must serve a genuine narrative purpose, not merely a decorative one.Any means of transport may be used: car, train, bicycle, boat, motorcycle, walking, or any other form of travel.The character(s) should evolve throughout the journey, whether emotionally, through relationships, or through their interaction with the landscapes they cross.
